WHAT WE DO: Provide meaningful financial assistance to graduating seniors of Melrose High School through scholarships for post-secondary education.
HOW WE HELP: For more than 60 years, The Melrose High School Permanent Scholarship Fund has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors of Melrose High School. In the last three years we have awarded in excess of $1,200,000 in scholarships to nearly 650 different graduating seniors. In 2023 the Fund proudly awarded our most substantial sum in over six decades of funding, a grand total of $463,375 benefitting 202 deserving Melrose High School graduating seniors.
The MHS Permanent Scholarship Fund is not directly associated with Melrose High School. Our mission is to raise and administer the funds required to award scholarships to students graduating from Melrose High School. While we work with the school to support the students, we are an independent, voluntary and 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
We are primarily supported by contributions from the citizens and businesses of Melrose. The Fund was created by the Melrose High School PTO in 1960 and awarded its first scholarship in June of 1961.
