Charles J. Ragucci and Angela H. “Bunny” Ragucci Memorial Scholarship

In January 2025, Angela “Bunny” H. Ragucci would have celebrated her 100th birthday.

In honor of Angela’s passion and dedication to nursing and her husband Charles’ talent for business, The Charles J. Ragucci and Angela H. “Bunny” Ragucci Memorial Scholarship was established many years ago and is awarded annually to a graduating Melrose High School student pursuing a career in nursing or business.

Bunny graduated from Revere High School and the Whidden Memorial School of Nursing. Her husband, Charles, was a graduate of the Everett High School Class of 1943 and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

For 55 years, Charles and Bunny Ragucci owned and operated WEDECO Hardware and Corinthian Hall on Franklin Street in the Melrose Highlands. These businesses were more than just local establishments—they were a cornerstone of the community, offering quality service and a warm, welcoming space for countless residents and their children. One longtime customer fondly recalled, “He was never too busy to let a child pass by unloved,” noting that Charles and Bunny were well known for handing out handfuls of lollipops to neighborhood kids.

Beyond their businesses, Charles was an active member of the Melrose Lions Club, and together, he and Bunny were cherished in the community for their kindness and generosity.
